William W. Pepper

William W. Pepper was born in Huntington, West Virginia and grew up in Dunbar and Parkersburg, West Virginia. He obtained his undergraduate and law degrees from West Virginia University, graduating in 1976 where he was the Law Review Research Editor and served as a member of the faculty teaching an undergraduate course he developed called "Introduction to Law." After graduation, Bill taught Legal Research and Writing at the Wayne State University Law School in Detroit, Michigan. Thereafter, he was asked to serve as law clerk to the Hon. Darrell V. McGraw (Justice of the West Virgina Supreme Court of Appeals), a position he held until early 1980 when he went into private practice. Three years later, he and Andrew Nason formed the partnership of Pepper & Nason, engaged in the general practice of Law.

Over the years, Mr. Pepper has argued numerous cases in state and federal courts and before the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals. He has conducted jury trials on various civil and criminal cases and litigated all types of bankruptcy cases and appeals. He was debtor's counsel in the first federal court proceeding to be televised in the state of West Virginia. Since 1980 he has represented more Chapter 7 bankruptcy debtors than any other lawyer in West Virginia and files many cases for Chapter 11 debtors and small businesses. He does not represent corporate creditors.
